Match Report: |
Against a youthful Redhill team, Tettenhall seized the chance to give 14 year old Akask his first start. Akask responded with an excellent hitting display which led to him being voted Man-of-the-Match. Tettenhall never really had any problems due to Redhills lack of experience, but it was encouraging to see so many young players playing Men's Volleyball. I would imagine next year, Redhill will prove to be much tougher opposition. |

Match Report: |
A straightforward victory for Tettenhall saw them continue their 100% start to the new season.
The second set became a little scrappy; Tettenhall made several substitutions, and along with some over-ambitous plays, the first ball suffered.
However, Tettenhall will be delighted with their early season form, especially with the improvement of Dannys attacking play - he produced several winners from quick-attacks and blocks tonight.
Elsewhere, Shiv turned out a good all-round performance, with his hitting, blocking and passing all consistent.

Match Report: |
A third successive victory for Tettenhall in what was a tricky away fixture.
Tettenhall's main problem was getting to grips with the match ball, which proved very difficult to control, and we all had to make adjustments to our technique.
The match turned out to be a fairly straightforward straight sets victory. Lee Maddox's hitting through Position 2 was exceptional, and Rashad's blocking frustrated Coseley throughout.

Despite the absence of Rashad (away on international duty), Tettenhall continued their impressive start to the season with a convincing victory over Birmingham Uni.
Tettenhall played a solid game throughout, the only hiccup being the third set, where we perhaps eased up and expected the opposition to roll over.
The fourth and final set was the most emphatic, with Danny finishing off the set with a series of "Kill-Blocks". |

Off to a ROARING start Tigers never looked in danger in their 1st match of the season. Taking the 1st set 25-9 most of the oppositions points came from the home sides unforced errors and our lack of power in the smash. The 2nd set again saw us giving points away attempting ambitious plays but first ball was taken well giving James time to put up a high percentage of attacking sets. All the players contributed well to this win but for me Danny stood out for his timing and judgement. Strong serving and good cover play allowed us to take the match with a comfortable 25-9 3rd set. Well done to everyone involved. |

This was the best team performance of the season so far against a very strong side. Despite losing the 2nd set Tigers were, for the most part, very dominant in attack and very strong in defence. Rashad' built his own brick wall across the net' which Tamworth could not find a way through. Everyone played their part in this convincing win. A great team effort. Well done Guys. |

Tigers got off to a tottering start in the 1st set with several players showing positional indecision. Gradually fewer mistakes were being made and some stong attacking play gave us the edge in a very close set. The 2nd set saw us build up a comfortable points lead, but this was thrown away by unforced errors in 'hitting' and 'service receive'. Again a very close set which could have gone either way, as was the case with the 3rd set which the Fire Service deserved to take. The 4th set was more comfortable with experienced 'wise council' from James and Robert keeping the team more focussed. Before the next round in the Cup the team have some time to sort out the positional weakness in service receive. Overall a good team performance against a competent experienced side. |

Unfortunately, the score sheet that was given for me to fill out this report was only half filled in.
Reguardless of that, this wasn't the best of our games. Although we tried our hardest, we made small errors which eventually made a big effect on the scores and our performance. They were also a more experienced team, however, we'll try and learn from this game, and continue to do our best. |

Considering that our team did not have many training sessions and it was the 1st game of the season, we unfortunately suffered a loss against Rugby. We had a rusty start in the 1st set, but came back with a brillant 2nd winning set. We were then put under pressure, and started to make mistakes which eventually cost us the game. However, we did play decent, there was great 1st balls and the setting and the hitting was consistant. We are all looking foward to our next games as we will learn from this loss, move on and become an even stronger team! |
