Great end to the season!

The last few weeks have produced some excellent good news stories. The West Midland League season finished with the Mens' team finishing unbeaten claiming the Division 2 title with plenty to spare. The improvement over the season has been tremendous with the lads now looking to finish in the top half of the table in Div 1 next season. The Womens' team (all Under 15) finished the season with a 'winner takes all' match against Rugby to decide who would be promoted to Div 1 of the West Mids League. After 5 nail biting sets our girls triumphed and will play in the top flight next season. Individually Gabi, Sam and Sophie represented our successful West Midlands Squad at the Inter-Regionals in Kettering. Once again we showed what a strong region we are for volleyball, well done girls. Last week-end the club travelled for the National Volleyball Festival at Southport. Both boys and girls played in the various categories with our U13s and U15s again winning their age groups. Photos will soon be in the Gallery. A special congratulations go to Gabi, Christina and Sam who have been selected for the Central England team to play in the UK School Games in Newcastle-under Tyne in early September. This is a very high honour..well done girls! We now look forward to our Annual Awards Evening on Wednesday where our achievements will be celebrated by all!

Referees Course.

There is a Grade 4 Referees Course scheduled for the 20th & 21st March at the North Solihull Sports Centre. Details are on the West Midlands Volleyball Association website.

Great start to the Season!!

This evening our very young ladies team continued their 100% record defeating a very experienced Rugby Phoenix side 25-27 22-25 29-27 26-24 15-11 to remain at the top of the league. They are emulating our men who head their league having also won their first 4 matches. Well done to all concerned.

Volley 1 Accreditation Awarded

Volley 123 is the Club accreditation scheme for volleyball in England. Volley 123 is designed to recognise and reward clubs that stand apart from the rest in terms of good practice. A club that achieves accreditation will be a mark of a quality club that is equitable, inclusive, friendly, well-run and most importantly safe. With Volley 1 accreditation our club also receives the prestigious Sport England Clubmark award.
I am very pleased to announce that in March 2008 thanks to the efforts of all the members of the Tettenhall Tigers committee, we achieved Volley 1 Accreditation. The banner we received is displayed proudly in our sports hall. For more information click here.
